ElectriKit Conversion

“ElectriKit has taken the best cooker in the world and improved it for the 21st Century”

Why ElectriKit conversion?

The ElectriKit conversion has gained huge popularity throughout the reconditioned Aga market.

Designed and manufactured in Devon, Electrickit has proved itself throughout the country as the go to conversion kit for your Aga. My customers consistently say it is reliable, easy to use and very efficient to run.

Eliminate servicing costs, dramatically reduce running costs and experience a more flexible cooker, whilst retaining all the qualities of the traditional Aga by converting with Electrickit. This revolutionary kit offers all the flexibility and low running costs of the latest Aga models but at a lower price point and without needing to replace your existing Aga. Electrickit can be fitted into any existing Aga (subject to condition), including even the very earliest solid fuel models.

How does the ElectriKit conversion work?

Running from 2 x 13amp fused spur sockets, they can be fitted with a timer to further reduce running costs. The ElectricKit is an amazing feat of engineering, utilising 3 (or 4) electrical elements, strategically placed in-between the ovens, inside the hot plates and even inside the warming cupboard on 4 oven models.

Due to the positioning and internal electrical components, your Aga will need to be fully rebuilt to carry out the conversion. All of the vermiculite is made redundant and therefore removed from the cooker. The cast iron ashpit and outer barrel are no longer required and also removed from the aga. The top oven is removed and prepared for the ElectricKit conversion. The heating element is placed between the ovens and then Ceramic Fibre Insulating blanket is wrapped around the ovens to retain the heat. The electrics are installed and connected, along with the control panel. The two hot plates are swapped with specially made hot plates with heating elements incorporated inside. The ElectricKit conversion is complete and the Aga is re-assembled!

You're left with your original Aga, plus independently controllable hot plates, ovens and warming cupboard.

The ElectriKit has taken the best cooker in the world and improved it for the 21st Century – controllable, even heat for a fraction of the running costs of a traditional Aga. Amazing!

What about Electrikit running costs?

As with all Agas, it is very difficult to accurately predict running costs as every household will use their converted Aga differently. However tests show that when used to maximum efficiency (only running the Aga when required) costs may be as low as £1.50 per day or below (April 2022 price cap revision).

If room heat is a priority costs may well be considerably higher in the cooler seasons. For example running the ovens at 220° will result in costs of around £22 per week (April 2022 price cap revision). This may be offset by much lower running costs in the Summer season.

Leaving the hot plates on at low heat will increase running costs – for most efficient use, hobs should be turned on only for use.
